Award for the top flock

A HIGH performing flock based on “Bogo” bloodlines has won the Bruce Moses memorial Shield.

The shield for the Temora Maiden Ewe Competition was judged on Friday and attracted nine teams.

Steve Boland, “Rosedale”, Young had the best flock on the day and was rewarded for his efforts to increase fleece weights.

Mr Boland said the objective was to increase the wool cut to eight kilograms per sheep and to reduce the average micron to 18.

NSW Department of Primary Industries, technical specialist, grazing systems, Phil Graham, Yass judged the competition with Malcolm Peake.

Wallambee Pastoral Company, “Allambie”, Tallimba was second, the Reid family, “Killarney, third and the highly commended award was won by S Jarvis and L Wittman, “Heathfield”, Boorowa.
