Barellan gets ready to set a new world record

18 Aug, 2010 09:43 PM
THE picture-perfect scene of a Clydesdale ploughing a paddock will always hold pride of place on the Australian landscape.

In a bid to celebrate the significance of working horses a “Good Old Days” weekend has been planned for Barellan in September.

Brothers Bruce and Colin Bandy hold the roles of organising committee president and vice president, respectively and are looking forward to the event. It is a chance to participate in a world-record attempt to have the largest number of working clydesdales in harness.

The weekend (September 25 and 26) also promises to showcase some of the skills of yesteryear with a blade shearing demonstration, sheaf tossing, whip making, and guess the weight competitions.

Contact Paul Bandy 0428 631 673 or Bruce Bandy (02) 6963 9178.
