More new season lambs

26 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
NEW season lambs more than doubled in volume and old lambs were well represented at Griffith.

Quality was good with only a few pens of old lambs looking a bit plain.

Trade weights were in good numbers and there were only a few pens of old heavyweight lambs offered.

New season trade weight lambs sold to a cheaper trend down $8 to range from $110 to $144 a head or averaging between 555c and 565c/kg cwt.

The few pens of heavyweight old lambs gained in value selling from $134 to $186 averaging around 550c/kg cwt.

Mutton numbers stayed steady.
