Opera heads bush

26 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
Oz Opera's performance of "La Traviata" at Morundah is only a few weeks away.

Two performances will be staged on Friday September 17 and Saturday 18 at the Paradise Palladium Theatre, Morundah.

This year, in keeping with promoting the arts to youth in the bush, discounted tickets to students are being offered.

For only $10 a ticket, students can come and see a fully staged opera production, the same as you would see at the Sydney Opera House.

Opera co-ordinator, David Fahey said there was a special emphasis on involving children from the region.

In 2009, a children's educational workshop involving 75 children from the region was run.

"We have so far raised $20,000 to go towards another children's musical workshop," he said.
