STRONG demand for flock rams meant that prices were pushed to the limit at Kurralea's recent on-property sale.
A total clearance was achieved when 322 Poll Dorset and White Suffolk rams were sold at the Ariah Park stud.
In an outstanding result, the stud cleared 28 of 28 Poll Dorset stud rams to $8250 to average $2175 and all 193 Poll Dorset flock rams to $1200, averaging $854.
In the breakdown, 29 stud Poll Dorset rams averaged $2100 and eight stud White Suffolk rams averaged $2013.
Flock rams topped at $1200 for both breeds, with 193 Poll Dorsets averaging $854 and 93 White Suffolks averaging $906.
Volume buyers of flock rams included return clients FS Faulkner and Sons from Deniliquin, operating through James Osborne, which bought 57 Poll Dorsets from $600-$1100.
Victorian volume buyers included Chatsworth House, Chatsworth, which paid $100-$1200 for 10 White Suffolks and Robin Jackson of Lake Repose Partnership, Glenthompson, who paid $700-$900 for 10 Poll Dorsets.
In the stud rams, the top dollar of $8250 was paid by Andrew Hiskcock, for his family partnership JM Hiskcock and Sons, Brurob, for Kurralea 080007.
Amando Dissenga of Warburn and Rod Fawns, Deniliquin, combined to secure a high-performance son of Kurralea Pure Gold for $3750.
In the White Suffolks, prices for stud rams topped at $4000 for K080113, the 2009 Canberra reserve champion sired by Depta Grove 060520. Buyers were Bruce and Glenda Brill of Glenroy, Griffith.
Agents were Elders Wagga with Michael Glasser and James Tierney at the rostrum.
