The new rights allow members to stand for the CCA board and vote on board elections.
Members will also be able nominate to participate on CCA policy sub-committees.
“The Australian beef industry needs strong representation from those who know it best, beef producers," said CCA president Andrew Ogilvie.
“In joining as a direct member to the Cattle Council, Australian producers can take control of the industry, evoke change and ensure the best outcomes for the Australian beef industry."
Membership will be free for those producers already contributing to national representation through a start farming organisation (SFO).
Membership for non-SFO members will cost $100 (plus GST).
The move to open up direct membership follows on from CCA's adoption of a new structure in late 2013.
