John Gill and Sons principal John "Happy" Gill from The Rock met with two representatives from the Chinese branch of the Professional Bull Riding Association (PBR).
He said the Chinese were planning to set up a PBR circuit which would attract the top international riders.
In fact the first events, if the deal to secure Australian bulls goes to plan, could be run in the next few months.
Mr Gill described the potential deal as a shot in the arm for rodeo and bull riding.
He said it would certainly help to raise the profile of the sport.
Mr Gill said the logistics of exporting bulls to China was enormous.
The bulls would be air freighted, possibly out of Melbourne or Sydney.
Mr Gill said he could not confirm the monetary value of the deal.
