Mr McCormack, who is a former Australian Fodder Industry Association (AFIA) boss is joined by Chris Kelly from Woomelang, Victoria, Emma Thomas from Forbes and Richard Rice from Parkes.
Meanwhile, a Victorian grain grower with a passion for developing rural communities and farming generations of the future has been elected to the National Policy Group of GrainGrowers.
Julia Hausler is the newest member of GrainGrowers’ National Policy Group to represent members in Victoria and southern New South Wales, following Southern Region elections in the last few weeks.
Mrs Hausler and her husband, Tim, run a mixed cropping and sheep enterprise near Warracknabeal, growing cereals, lentils, canola and other grains and pulses.
GrainGrowers Chairman, John Eastburn, congratulated all five growers on their election to the National Policy Group for the next three years.
“We were delighted that more than 1,200 votes were lodged by GrainGrower members to elect these representatives, so we look forward to hearing their views and welcoming their input in developing our policies,” he said.
“Our National Policy Group representatives are a key conduit between growers, lobbyists and policymakers.”
Mrs Hausler takes over from Malcolm Bennett, a Mallee region farmer who has farmed for more than 40 years and held representative roles at GrainGrowers since 2001.
Mr Eastburn described Mr Bennett as a well-respected member of the National Policy Group, the previous Regional Committee and Committee of Advice.
GrainGrowers is Australia’s only national, independent grain producer organisation which is member-based, financially stable and technically resourced.
