Barbara Johnston is a mixed farmer from, "Lauderdale", Currawarna and she is also the Rural Ratepayers Association president.
Mrs Johnston said she would like to know what her rights are if a mining company approached her to undertake exploration on the property.
She said it was time for southern NSW farmers to learn from those in the north of the state who had faced CSG issues.
Mrs Johnston has called on NSW Farmers Association mining and CSG officer Scott Harlum to address a forum at the Commercial Club in Wagga on Tuesday August 26 at 7.30pm.
"It is an issue that a lot of people will push under the carpet ... I hope we can learn about how to deal with this," she said.
Wagga City Council initially announced a moratorium on CSG exploration in the shire earlier this year.
This was followed by the NSW Government announcing a six-month freeze on processing new applications for coal-seam gas exploration licences, while the cost of applying would increase from $1000 to $50,000.
