The Facilitator/Coordinator Award attracted finalists representing each State and Territory, celebrating the achievements of individuals that make a valuable contribution to the land where they live and work.
Louise was presented the Award by Senator Bridget McKenzie at a gala dinner in Melbourne to announce the winners of nine categories of National Landcare Awards, a biennial event which has been running since Landcare’s inception as a national movement.
Louise was acknowledged in her role as coordinator for the Harden Murrumburrah Landcare Group, for inspiring members and facilitating change for more than 20 years.
Riverina Local Land Services general manager Rob Kelly said that the dedication and commitment Louise demonstrated in her role made her a very worthy recipient of the award.
“Louise has a passion for the land, in particular sustainable agriculture, and has worked hard to drive change and implement innovative land management practices.”
“We congratulate Louise on this outstanding achievement and we are very pleased that her work has been acknowledged at a national level.”
Riverina Local Land Services Chair Sam Archer was awarded runner up for the prestigious Bob Hawke Landcare Award recognising his championing of the Landcare ethic and inspiring others to take action on their own property.
