The rural event, now in its 36th year, features some of the most interesting and innovative agricultural exhibits.
The Rural together with the Murrumbateman Field Days committee is giving readers a chance to win one of four family passes to the event. Each pass includes entry for two adults and two children and is valued at $40.
To enter include your name, address and phone number in the comments section at the bottom of this story (details will not be published online but will be kept by the site administrator). Or alternatively include all details in an email with Murrumbateman Field Days in the subject line to nreynolds@fairfaxmedia.com.au. The winners will be drawn at random on Friday October 10.
Organisers are expecting more than 500 commercial exhibits and estimate the event will inject $1 million into the local economy.
“The Field Days is more than a rural trade show,” says event manager Mr Kim Williams.
“The community have built the field days into the ultimate family outing, with lifestyle and produce exhibitors, fast rides, aero-bounce, baby animals, wine tastings, tractor pulls, equestrian and shearing demonstrations, gadgets, antique displays, and this year we introduce a huge family entertainment program on the oval and Village Green," Mrs Williams said.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 concession cards and students, and $5 for 12-16yrs, and children under 12yrs have free entry when accompanied by a paying adult.
The event takes place at the Murrumbateman Recreation Ground, Barton Highway and gates open from 9am-5pm Saturday and 9am-4pm Sunday.
