Mr Talbot started the role with Australia's peak farming organisation this week.
Mr Talbot has been a Director at Mondelēz International (Kraft/Cadbury) for seven years, heading the corporate affairs function for Australia and New Zealand, and leading agricultural investment across Mondelēz International’s fast-growing Asia Pacific region.
“On behalf of the NFF Board, Members’ Council and NFF Secretariat, I am delighted to welcome Simon and look forward to him joining the organisation on 20 October 2014,” said NFF president Brent Finlay.
Mr Talbot takes over from Matt Linnegar who filled the chief position for the past three years.
