Domestic buyer competition for vealers was solid, with several select butcher orders dominating sales for vealers in full bloom.
The better finished vealers made from 195c to 232c/kg.
Demand weakened considerably for yearling steers and heifers suitable for the trade. The steer portion sold 9c cheaper to average 188.1c/kg.
Yearling heifers were well supplied and sold to fluctuating price trends. The better shaped heifers which were not over conditioned made from 165c to 179.6c/kg.
It was a good quality offering of heavy grown steers and bullocks. The better finished heavy grown steers sold to weaker demand, with prices easing 5c to 7c/kg.
Heavy bullocks averaged 185.7c and reached a top price of 194.2c/kg. Friesian Bullocks were in greater numbers and made from 142c to 164c/kg.
