Numbers dropped slightly this sale with mutton showing the decrease.
There were 4150 lambs offered and quality was similar to previous sales, with both well finished and plainer lambs penned.
There were an increased percentage of Dorper lambs available and not all the usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.
Light new-season lambs eased $3, selling from $81 to $84, while trade weights were also $3 easier, to average $107/head.
Heavy lambs sold from $117 to $122, while extra heavy weight lambs received from $126 to $132/head. Carcase prices averaged from 450c to 470c/kg cwt. Dorper lambs ranged from $91 to $115/head for trade and heavyweights.
Old trade weight lambs sold from $82 to $101/head. Heavy lambs received from $106 to $116, while extra heavy weights sold between $120 and $142/head.
Mutton numbers were made up of mostly Merinos and quality was again mixed. Prices slipped $6 to $8/head. Merino ewes made from $74 to $88, while crossbred ewes ranged in price from $71 to $83/head.
