As part of a long standing scholarship program, the association will be offering five scholarships to the value of $4000 each for students committed to helping farming and rural communities grow and prosper.
Students must be in their second or subsequent year of university study, or first or subsequent year of vocational study, to be eligible. In addition, students, their partners, or parents must have held a full producer membership with the association in the past two years.
The chair of the association’s scholarship selection panel Sonia O’Keefe said: “The scholarships are available for a diverse range of career choices and support some of our passionate and dynamic students who can make a significant contribution to our agricultural industry.”
Angus Martin from Mullaley, a 2014 scholarship recipient said: “The application process and award presentation were excellent opportunities to meet a range of people, engage with rural issues and learn about the role of the association. Overall, it has been a very rewarding experience!”
Alexandra Dalton from Binya added: “The great thing about the NSW Farmers’ scholarship is it recognises students studying a variety of disciplines and their passion for agriculture. ”
Forms must be completed and returned to NSW Farmers by 13 February 2015.
