The official ASC app announced this week by society president, Tim O’Brien offers users exclusive content and information ranging from local and interstate events through to up to the minute weather forecasts, social media and contact details for each show conducted under the auspices of the group.
Downloadable for free on iOS and Android devices by visiting the AppleStore or GooglePlay and searching for NSW Country Shows, the app also allows users to seamlessly check royal show schedules, interstate show contact details, showgirl information, judging updates, rules and regulation, photo galleries and a whole lot more.
The app can be installed on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
Users can also visit www.agshowsnsw.org.au for direct links to the app.
According to Mr O’Brien, the app is another step the ASC have taken to accommodate the continued growth of mobile web use.
“Last year, the Council made a conscious decision to engage as much of the public as possible by adopting a proactive approach to social media via Facebook.
“The communicative success of the move prompted us to explore more mobile options for those keen to support the show movement in NSW – and hence the birth of our first app.”
Mr O’Brien said he expected an immediate take-up of the app and saw the initiative as imperative to the Council staying relevant to the needs of the public.
The app is available from Tuesday, January 20.
