Riverina equine enthusiast and Sheros Australian Stock Horse Stud principal, Andrew Sheridan is the sole vendor and will offer 41 lots.
The sale will take place at the Charles Sturt University on April 4 and offers buyers a chance to secure unreserved geldings.
A helmsman auction system will be used and Mr Sheridan says this allows buyers to consider their choices.
“People more time to have a look at all of the horses,” he said.
Of the 41 lots 23 will be ridden and buyers have the opportunity to snap up mounts suitable for everything from eventing to campdrafting.
Mr Sheridan said he believed there was a market for a sale of this size in southern NSW given the success of horse auctions at Rockhampton and Tamworth.
In addition to the sale there will be displays of horse starting and mini clinics to interest horse enthusiasts.
Mat Holz, the winner of the Landmark Classic this year in Tamworth, will conduct four information sessions and offer educational tips.
Mr Holz has also prepared some of the ridden lots offered in the catalogue. And he regularly campaigns the Sheros Australian Stock Horse Stud stallion Traditional Acres.
In fact, a full sister of Traditional Acres is being offered in the sale and is tipped to be one of the top sellers on the day.
The filly is lot 25, Sheros Classical Acres and sired by the legendary Acres Destiny (imp) from the mare Kyeema Shimmer.
The supreme horse starting challenge has attracted some of Australia’s best horse people including Emma O’Shea and Christy Connor.
Mr Sheridan said he bred his first horse in 1996 and has been keen to continue the interest since then.
“It is something I have always been passionate about,” he said.
“I have always tried to generate a horse that is versatile.”
