Numbers remained fairly similar this sale. Lamb quality continues to be similar to the previous sale, with both well finished and plainer pens yarded.
There was a good selection of all grades yarded. The usual buyers were present and competing in a firm to slightly dearer market.
Light lambs lifted $5 selling from $87 to $96/head. Trade weights were firm to $4 better, with prices ranging from $92 to $119/head.
Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were $3 to $4/head better. Heavy lambs sold from $118 to $132 and extra heavy weights sold from $131 to $174/head.
Carcase prices averaged from 486c to 530c/kg cwt. Mutton numbers were made up of mostly Merinos and quality was very mixed.
Prices remained fairly similar to the previous week’s sale.
Merino ewes sold from $71 to 4101/head. Crossbreds reached $102 and Dorper ewes sold from $66 to $105/head.
