Medium and heavy trade weight lambs were in reasonable numbers as were light weight trade lambs. The market lacked the intensity of last week, with prices fluctuating as the market progressed.
Shorn trade lambs sold $5 to $8 cheaper to mostly sell between 530c and 540c/kg cwt.
Lighter weight lambs suitable to restock or feed-on sold to solid competition, making from $79 to $108/head. Plainer light weight lambs suitable to slaughter sold up to $8/head dearer.
Heavy and extra heavy lamb numbers dropped considerably and the export market lacked the weight of the previous market, with only limited numbers over 30kg cwt.
Heavy lambs sold $9 cheaper, selling from $140 to $153/head. Prices for extra heavy lambs dropped $7 to $12, with extra heavy lambs making from $144 to $186.60/head to mainly range from 510c to 522c/kg cwt.
It was a very mixed quality offering of mutton, with all weights and grades represented. Heavy ewes made from $78 to $105/head to mostly range from 274c to 287c/kg cwt. Light and medium grades sold from $38 to $92/head, with medium weights selling mainly from 256c to 290c/kg cwt.
