Greg Greg resident Scott Bandy has won the challenge five times and will have the joy of seeing his daughter and son compete in the junior event and the first ever stripling challenge at the festival.
The stripling category will be open to riders aged between 10 and 14 who will compete in similar events to the open challenge.
Mr Bandy’s son Travis, 14, has competed in stripling events since he was five and said he was looking forward to competing in the junior event next year.
His sister Georgia, 15, said she was keen to follow in her dad’s footsteps at the upcoming event on top of the same horse he competed on.
“It’s something I’ve always dreamed of,” she said.
The festival starts on Thursday, March 31.
