More than 300 players and 2000 or more spectators attended the Australian Polocrosse National Championships at the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre, which included seven days of play, ranging from the under 12s to the masters mixed competition.
NSW dominated the finals held on Saturday and Sunday, winning the under 12s competition, the under 16 boys and girls competitions, the under 21 women’s division, the men’s and masters masters competition and the three major competitions – the senior men, senior women, and senior mixed competitions.
The best male player was Will Weston from Jugiong and Lucy Grills, from Albury/Holbrook, was the best female player.
The champion horse of the carnival was Berragoon Percussion ridden by Abbott Grills, also from Albury/Holbrook club, in the senior men’s competition. Percussion was also the champion horse at the Darwin nationals in 2014.
