Thundering hooves, breathtaking horsemanship and a million dollars worth of cattle could only mean one thing in Jugiong over the weekend – campdraft time.

The village hosted the annual campdraft on Saturday and Sunday with competitors travelling from as far afield as Mansfield, Tallarook and Benalla in Victoria, throughout the Riverina to Leeton, Crookwell, Moss Vale, Sydney to Braidwood, Canberra and Moruya just to name a few.
All were hoping for a slice of the $16,500 in prize money up for grabs.
The annual event continues to attract good competitor numbers with 750 first round runs and a final in each event.
A waiting list of more than 500 entries existed.
Co-organiser Kandee Thorn said the event holds its popularity due to the quality of the cattle.
It is with thanks to cattle donors, all local to the district, that the event is able to go ahead each hear.
