Liz Tonge, from Casino, is in her second year of the course, and was awarded the scholarship at the NSW Farmers Annual Conference.
NSW Farmers awarded $20,000 in scholarships to five university students from across the state.
Growing up on a dairy farm in northern NSW gave Liz an interest in the animal health and husbandry field.
“It established my passion for working with animals,” she said.
“My dairy upbringing also developed my interest in pathology and clinical diagnosis,” she said.
Liz said she has a vision to help farmers through animal disease treatment and prevention as well as herd health monitoring.
