Grown steers and bullocks were in reasonable numbers and quality was very good.

Cow numbers were similar with 565 head penned.

The larger supply of vealers sold to steady demand selling at 326c to 396c, with the odd isolated sale above 400c/kg. Medium weight grass finished heifers were unchanged to average 319c/kg. The better finished medium trade weight trade steers sold to the usual group of buyers however the market lacked momentum which caused prices to soften. The better finished steers 336c to 389c, while two lighter weight steers reached a top price of 400c/kg. Well-bred medium weight C2 yearling steers sold to weaker bidding, and not all feedlots made purchases.

Medium weight C2 feeder steers slipped 15c to average 341c/kg. It was more of the same for feeder heifers, with prices falling 9c to 16c/kg. Lighter weight heifers averaged 336c/kg.

A good quality supply of heavy grown steers sold to the usual group of export and domestic processors. Weaker demand from processors and feedlots contributed to a cheaper trend of 8c/kg. The better quality pens of prime finished C3 and C4 steers made 300c to 340c/kg. Heavy grown heifers were well supplied selling at 266c to 366c/kg.

Cow numbers increased and two extra processors participated in the sale after lengthy absences. Heavy cows eased 13c to 22c to average 246c/kg.

The D3 medium weight lines sold to fluctuating price trends as the sale progressed to average 230c/kg.
