Police Minister Troy Grant welcomed this morning’s latest quarterly report by the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research – highlighting the fact 16 out of 17 major offences, including murder, domestic violence and robbery – had remained stable over the past two years.
But over the past 12 months stock theft crimes increased by 176 to 677 – a 35 per cent rise.
