It was an all Jugiong affair in the A grade final of Wagga Polocrosse Club’s carnival at Euberta on Sunday.
After two days of action, Jugiong defeated their clubmates 13-10 in the final, in what proved to be a solid warm up to this weekend’s NSW Club Championships at Bungendore.
Some 20 teams travelled from as far as Ballarat for a successful Wagga carnival.
“Over the course of the weekend we had five current Australian players all participating,” Wagga Polocrosse Club official Dustin Bradshaw said.
“There was also 22 NSW players so it was a really high standard.
“It was a fun, relaxed couple of days and the weather was beautiful.”
The Wagga club, who is in a rebuilding phase, was pleased to field three teams over the weekend.
“The club is the strongest it has been in years, from a players point of view, fielding three teams,” Bradshaw said.
The carnival was the perfect hit-out heading into the NSW Club Championships.
“Everyone is gearing up for the club championships. Albury and Jugiong would be hot favourites for the best club in the state,” Bradshaw said.
