According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service numbers eased at this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the decrease.
New season lambs lifted $7/head and more in places. Trade weights sold from $124 to $159/head. Heavy lambs received from $145 to $160 and extra heavy weights made from $160 to $176/head. Old lambs were also $6 to $8 dearer and up to $15/head in places. Trade weights sold from $114 to $135, heavy weights received $136 to $150/head. Extra heavy weight lambs sold from $150 to $220/head. Carcase prices averaged 580c to 600c/kg cwt. Mutton numbers were made up of mostly Merinos and quality was very mixed. Prices remained steady.
