A large public sculpture recognising Headlie Taylor and his Header invention will become a significant part of the local Henty landscape, both artistically and physically.

The appointment of artist Paul Smits was announced during a funding presentation at Henty.

“The proposed sculpture will in part recognise the contribution to agriculture by Headlie Taylor, over a century ago and will become an iconic part of the local landscape adding to the legend that Henty is the Home of the Header,” said Bruce Taylor of the Headlie Taylor Header Museum.

The successfully commissioned artist Paul Smits, worked as a prosthetic technician in his early working life, giving him valuable insight into the anatomical structures of the human form when sculpting portraits.

“My aim is always to sculpt with a dramatic narrative that aims to achieve artistic excellence,”  he said.
