According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service lamb quality was mixed with some handy lines of well finished pens offered though a larger percentage of the yarding were showing signs of dryness and seed contamination.
Light new season lambs sold from $114 to $118/head. Trade weights were firm with prices ranging from $119 to $149/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were firm to $3 better on a heavier offering than the previous sale. Heavy lambs sold from $144 to $162/head.
Extra heavy weights received from $159 to $190/head. Carcase prices averaged 596c to 620c/kg. Old light lambs averaged $108/head.
Trade weights held firm to receive from $115 to $132/head. Heavy lambs sold from $139 to $148/head.
Extra heavy weights sold from $146 to $202/head.
