Congratulations to The Rural readers Patty Price and George Youssef who have each won a family pass to the Rosewood Rodeo.
It will be the fifth Rosewood Rodeo and team yarding event.
The nation’s best cowboys will go head to head with Australia’s most elite bucking stock furnished by John Gill and Sons from The Rock.
Events include bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback riding along with the ever-popular motorbike vs horse challenge where brave locals go head to head in a race against time to prove who is victorious on the day.
Cowboys as far as Queensland to South Australia will make the journey down to compete in a battle for the chance to be crowned Rosewood champions and take home one of the trophy buckles.
Lets not forget the local lads, Tim Hammond and Ben Hall Australian Professional Rodeo Association and Professional Roceo Cowboys Associations cowboys.
Tim successfully competed earlier this year in America, whilst there he sustained a serious injury just before returning home.
Fellow local competitor, Ben Hall is not one to be taken lightly and will be a competitive entry in the bareback.
Another well-known local Matt Sheather, who won the open bull ride last year will be back to defend his title.
The Rosewood event started in 2009, in what originally was an effort to save the ‘watering hole’ in the tiny village.
In addition to rodeo and team yarding action there will be a charity auction.
Wagga auctioneer and rodeo competitor Tyler Pendergast will take the bids on a variety of items to support the McGrath Foundation.
Rosewood Club is set 21 kilometres on the Wagga side of Tumbarumba and runs two major events for the year.
With new amenities built just this year by the Rosewood Country Round Up organisation for the festival run in November, the facility offers free camping, amenities including showers, live entertainment, bar facilities open till late which will be sure to ensure the comfort of the rodeo and team penning crowd.
The committee would like to express their extreme gratitude to the generous sponsors in 2014. R and V Bergin, NCG contracting, Brennans Earthmoving, DG and GL Bergin and Mr Bull Bar.
Other sponsors include PRD Nation wide, Hutcheon and Pearce, Bluedime Concrete, AK Dame, GJ Hulm, D and S Goldspink, Bruce Alleyn, and Rosewood Store.
Rodeo action starts at 3.30pm on Saturday December 6 with team penning running all weekend.
Admission is $15 for adults with kids under 12 free.
