Set down for September 5, in the Athenium Theatre, the JBT Gala Charity Ball will once again raise funds for the Cooinda Court fire sprinkler retrofit appeal.
JBT president Tony Butt said the tickets were now on sale, and covered entry, a three-course meal and entertainment by the region’s best performers – Groove Factorie.
“If last year’s ball is any indication, the night promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment surrounded by good friends and lots of local people from our community,” Mr Butt said.
“Once again the very talented artists from the Junee Correctional Centre have put up some of their best artwork for a fun auction on the night, and all proceeds will go to Cooinda Court.
“The Junee community have been amazing in their efforts to raise money for this very worthy cause, and the JBT gala ball is just another way to raise money and having an enjoyable night doing it,” Mr Butt said.
Last year’s ball raised a considerable sum for Cooinda Court giving them the momentum to reach the $100,000 milestone earlier this year.
Cooinda Court management committee president Patricia Butler said the charity ball was another great example of the community’s generosity.
“It’s been an incredible 12 months since the first charity ball,” Mrs Butler said.
“This even is another example of the business owners in town once again putting their hands in their back pocket to support a local cause.
“This even galvanised the community’s existing generosity, without which we would be struggling to achieve our goal.
“We’re very appreciative of the support we have received both big and small,” Mrs Butler said.
Mr Butt urged locals to get in quick to ensure they got a ticket from either Remax in Broadway and from Ag’n’Vet Services in Lisgar Street.
“Don’t forget there are a limited number of tickets and all the people who attended last year are getting in early, so don’t leave it to the last minute to get your tickets.”
