The Australia’s Next Top Model judge was spotted braving the cold by keen swimmers in the frosty hours of the day.
Hawkins posted to social media indicating her Newcastle visit was a shoot for Myer, the department stores she represents.
She also gave Newcastle baristas a subtle plug.
Shots for Myer’s spring campaign recently took her to Goonoo Goonoo cattle station near Tamworth.
The spring campaign was also expected to “showcase Australia as a whole”, she told media earlier this month.
Hawkins won Miss Universe in 2004 and has since been drawn back to the region on assignment several times.
She was most recently as an ambassador for developer Keith Johnson’s Trinity Point marina project alongside former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke. She is founder of two businesses, swimwear brand Cozi and tanning product Jbronze.
