“It is disappointing and it is just part of the industry rationalisation,” said Mark Hoskinson of “Fernleigh”, Kikoira.
Mr Hoskinson said he was concerned about the safety aspects and more trucks would be forced to drive trucks through the township of Temora to make deliveries.
John Walker of “Orroroo” at Ariah Park says the closure will add 50 kilometres to his delivery trip.
Using figures from the harvest last year he estimated an additional 500 loaded trips, and 500 empty on the return trip, will now make the trip through the main street of Temora.
The Rural contacted GrainCorp for a response but did not receive a comment before deadline.
