The WeedSmart event took visitors to several different Riverina cropping and grazing opportunities to share insights into the latest techniques in controlling weeds.
Eastern Riverina producer Warwick Holding spoke to visitors about the merits of narrow windrow burning and managing “chaff decks”.
Also during the two-day event Marrar farmer Daniel Fox showed how narrow rows and diverse rotations are an option too.
Well known southern NSW agronomist Greg Condon gave growers advice about using discs and stripper fronts in farming systems.
Meanwhile Lockhart producer Mark Day also emphasised the role of double breaks and chaff decks.
