ABERDEEN Poll Dorset Stud has been lifted to great heights by offering rams at this year’s sale bred by super sire, Aberdeen Ram 5-15.
This particular ram is renowned for his proven progeny and is excellent in performance and structure, being Australia’s current number one trait leader for carcass plus 243 under Lambplan analysis (August 15, 2017).
He is also in the top 1 per cent in the country for muscle, growth, lamb 2020 and eating quality.
This spring rams advertising feature is supported by these businesses.
Stud principals Simon and Melissa Male are pleased that their clients are referring to these high index values in the selection process, enhancing their lambs to reach targeted market weights quickly.
“The future still continues to look great for prime lamb producers and we feel assured that demand will remain strong for the Poll Dorset breed,” Melissa said.
Simon and Melissa will host Aberdeen’s 53rd on-property sale, on Tuesday, October 3, “Marabou”, Henty, at 1.30pm.
This year there will be 130 autumn rams, 30 spring rams and 12 stud rams available for purchase.
All rams on offer will display exceptional visual traits and current Lambplan Australian Standard Breeding Values (ASBVs).
All Aberdeen rams are OJD vaccinated, brucellosis accredited and are MN2 under the market assurance program.
New and existing clients can inspect from 11.30am onwards, with lunch and light refreshments provided.
