With more than 300 local and returning residents hitting the streets on Saturday, the two-day celebration was a chance for young and old to dream and reminisce.
Committee member Bron Hatty said the street parade was a highlight for all involved.
“The parade was a major collaboration with the whole community – individuals, schools and clubs,” she said.
“It was entertaining and great to see everyone involved in rounding up different floats.”
With activities galore, there was plenty to see and do but Ms Hatty said the weekend’s focus was on celebrating a terrific community.
“I think in small country towns you have a greater appreciation of your heritage and all of the contributions people make,” she said.
“It’s great to honour some of the older people in our community who have dedicated years to us, a lot of them went in the parade in our classic cars.”
With a time capsule opened at the Haystack Museum, Ms Hatty said it was a chance for residents to look back to the past.
“The inter-generational activities are really nice to see,” she said.
“It’s also great for our younger kids to see the parade, it’s not something that happens everyday.”
The celebrations continued throughout the weekend, with a dinner under the stars in the main street on Saturday night and a breakfast in the park on Sunday morning for the special 125th Birthday Bash.
“It’s typical of a small town to get everyone together to make it all happen,” she said.
