According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service there was a larger percentage of shorn new season lambs offered.
Light new season lambs sold from $110 to $115/head. Trade weights were $5 easier with prices ranging from $122 to $148/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were $5 to $7/head easier. Heavy lambs sold from $150 to $167 and extra heavy weights received from $162 to $190/head. Carcase prices averaged from 611c to 630c/kg. Old trade weight lambs sold from $128 to $132/head. Heavy weights ranged from $140 to $150 and extra heavy weights sold from $158 to $184/head.
Mutton numbers were made up of mostly Merinos and prices showed a decline. Merino ewes sold from $106 to $152/head. Crossbred ewes received from $105 to $154 and Dorper ewes sold from $82 to $115/head
