Vendors sold a total of 38,885 sheep and lambs but the yarding was made up of plenty of light store-conditioned lambs.
Hugh Satchell of Yambla Station offered a big run of 1600 second cross Poll Dorset lambs which were estimated to weigh around 18 kilograms dressed.
The tops of the offering made a high of $135 and it was a result he was happy with.
Elders livestock agent Tim Wright of Holbrook said the price was good.
“On today’s market we are pleased,” he said.
The lambs were finished on improved pastures and the offering was the second line sold in the past fortnight. Last week Yambla Station offered a run of 1700 lambs.
Market reporter Leann Dax with Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service said prices were relatively firm across the various categories.
However, stores dropped by $5 to $6 due to supply and demand and the fact so many lighter lambs were offered.
Buyers acting on behalf of restockers secured lambs to either go into backgrounding operations or feedlots at Yarrawonga in Victoria, Leeton and Griffith in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and Cootamundra.
