The town will host an Australian Professional Rodeo Association event starting from 5pm.
According to a spokesperson from the association Yass competitor Clay Bush will be one of the favourites in the timed events.
He currently leads the all around and team roping heeler standings early in the new Australian Professional Rodeo Association season.
In the Warwick Rodeo APRA National Finals, he won the average in steer wrestling.
He works three events and in the new season which started on October 1, he is fourth in rope and tie standings but is yet to record a placing in steer wrestling.
Tumbarumba competitor Ben Hall won the pro tour title in the bareback bronc ride in the season to September 30 and is already in the standings lead in the new season.
Young rider and local contestant Ben Thorp was second in the bull ride pro tour standings in the 2016-2017 season but didn’t ride any of his bulls at the national finals.
Rosewood (NSW) rider Tim Hammond is second in the saddle bronc standings and one of the favourites for the Young Rodeo.
After this weekend, APRA rodeo action will move to The Rock Pro Rodeo in southern NSW on December 16.
