In December 2013 primary producers were preparing for harvest and the festive season. At the time The Rural had won a kelpie pup competition to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis research.
The pup Condover Chance helped to raise more than $8000.
There was also a run of rodeos including the popular Rosewood event which was held in southern NSW.
A horse sale was held at Charles Sturt University with the top-priced mare making $9000. And also at CSU graduates celebrated the end of their academic studies with a series of graduation ceremonies.
Pages of The Rural also featured plenty of social photos from the Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre and there was talk about high prices and a bumper harvest.
