Nationally renowned cowboys Ben Hall and Brad Pierce were among the talent on show, Hall impressing when he took out the open bareback.

Meanwhile, Tim Hammond took out the saddle bronc title.

Lee Kimber and Shane Kenny took out the team roping event, while Ellysha Kenny won the junior barrel race.

The day featured 15 open bull riders, a result which thrilled co-coordinator Jade Bryon.

“The support from everyone involved as well as everyone who came along to watch was great,” he said.

“I’ve been around rodeos all my life and to see one like this here was really good to see.

“The support from the town and the condition of the stock was unreal.”

Bryon believes this year’s success makes a repeat in 2018 a near certainty.

But a sequel may have organisers searching for a bigger venue.

“I think we could definitely do with something a bit bigger next year,” Bryon said.

“Especially if we have more of the timed events which need a fair bit of room.

“But crowd-wise we were definitely at capacity this year.” The rodeo supported Legacy, the men’s shed, SES and the fire brigade.
