The bulk of the offering was more suited to lot feeders and restockers. The market lacked drive and competition causing a price correction over most categories. Not all buyers attended and only one major export processors was operating.
Vealers were in short supply making from 272c to 310c/kg.
Domestic buyer competition was subdued across yearling trade cattle classes with buyers reporting they had plenty of stock arriving direct.
The main run of trade heifers eased 8c to average 253c/kg.
There were no yearling steers 400-500kg sold to the trade.
The bulk of the store steers sold to significantly cheaper trends making from 258c to 338c/kg.
Medium weight feeder steers sold 5c easier due impart to the reduced level of competition.
The bulk of the feeder steers made from 260c to 319c/kg. The general price trend for feeders was 19c/kg cheaper. The bulk of the lighter weight heifers 330-400kg sold from 248c to 282c/kg.
Export steers sold to weaker demand, with one major export processor purchasing the bulk of the offering.
The better C3 and C4 steers sold from 236c to 266c/kg.
In the cow market quality was quite mixed. Heavy cows topped at 215c to average 207c/kg. Leaner types made from 185c to 208c/kg.
There were several store buyers operating paying from 177c to 218c/kg
