Established in 1886 with the motto Ut Prosim – “That I may serve” – Wenona is an independent girls day and boarding school in North Sydney.
A group of 50 girls from year 7 to 12 call Wenona home throughout the school term, travelling from international as well as rural, regional and remote locations within Australia to be part of the school’s community of boarders.
Wenona aims to inspire students to become “Renaissance women” who are creative, resilient, articulate and well-educated, filled with a sense of humour and a capacity for adventure, while having a strong moral and ethical outlook, and have been raised to value service while being proactive and positive in the community.
Diversity of opportunity is a key focus at Wenona, and students are immersed in an education that encompasses academic learning across a diverse curriculum, including STEM, ethics, philosophy, culture and humanities, creative and imaginative expression and physical development. Beyond the classroom, girls can participate in a range of sports, performing arts, creative arts, debating, clubs and more.

Wenona offers scholarships to assist girls from all backgrounds to benefit from a Wenona education. As well as academic and music scholarships, there are boarding and foundation (or means-tested) scholarships available, with registration now open for entry in 2019.
Registration for 2019 academic, boarding and music scholarships is available online, with a scholarship exam held on Friday, March 2. Applicants for boarding scholarships sit this exam and submit a brief resume to give information about their interests, abilities and community involvement.
Foundation scholarships are made available through the Wenona Foundation and are awarded to students whose families would not otherwise be in a position to provide a Wenona education.
Registration for entry to Wenona in 2019 will close on Thursday, April 12.
