According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service it was a good quality yarding with good numbers of heavy weight and extra heavy weight lambs along with a pretty good selection of trade weights.
There were also good numbers of store lambs and light weight Merinos yarded. Light weight lambs to the processor were $4 cheaper with the 12-18kg 2 scores selling from $79 to $123/head.
Trade lambs were $8 to $10 cheaper, with the few trade weight new season lambs selling from $130 to $158/head.
Trade weight old lambs sold from $117 to $165/head, to average between 620c and 655c/kg cwt. Heavy weight lambs were $3 to $7 cheaper with the over 22kg 4 scores selling from $145 to $234/head and averaging around 630c/kg cwt.
Trade weight Merino lambs were a little cheaper selling from $124 to $148, while a single pen of heavy weight Merinos sold for $164/head.
Restocker lambs were firm with the better types selling from $86 to $133/head.
Hoggets sold to $146/head. It was a mixed quality yarding of mutton yarded where the light weight sheep were firm and the better heavy weights were up to $12/head cheaper. 2 score ewes sold from $28 to $79, while the better 3 and 4 scores sold from $70 to $138 for Merinos and $134/head for crossbreds. Merino wethers sold to $138/head.
