Sophie Walsh, co-founder of White Top Venues, located in Wagga is well aware of the costs associated with hosting and organising events and said the funding news comes as a welcome boon.
“Kicking off any event comes with considerable financial commitment, which can often seem like an insurmountable barrier for many,” she said.
“My advice, if you have any new and existing smaller-scale events coming up, get on board!”
General Manager of Destination Riverina Murray NSW, Richie Robinson said the Fund offers a one-off grant of up to $20,000 to assist with activities such as marketing, public relations, venue hire and attendee research.
“It’s exciting when you think of the incredible entrepreneurs and smaller operators located throughout the region who may be able to take advantage of such a worthwhile initiative,” Mr Robinson said.
From food and wine events to music and sporting festivals, we know rural and regional events play an important role in growing our local economy, and I encourage event organisers to apply for a grant and see where it takes you.”
