DISTANCE will be no barrier for competitors as they head to the western Riverina this weekend for the Hay Rodeo.
The event, on March 17, has attracted a strong field of cowboys and cowgirls including multiple Australian champions.
Yass cowboy Clay Bush is in the draw in the timed events.
Meanwhile, Emerald’s Shane Kenny, who is a 13-time Australian champion, has also signaled his intention to compete.
An Australian Professional Rodeo Association (APRA) spokesman said the event would be complemented by rodeos also at Camden and Dubbo.
Stock contractor John ‘Happy’ Gill of The Rock will provide the bucking stock for the Hay event.
The action at Hay Pro Rodeo starts at 6.30pm.
