This region is on the front foot with podium finishes in the beef cattle section, the sheep and wool pavillion and Wagga and southern NSW is a strong force in the young auctioneers competition.
The Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre – which holds the claim as the largest sheep and lamb selling facility in Australia – is an ideal training ground for young auctioneers.
Birubi, and Flemington Limousin Studs will turn out their cattle in top order and the Armstrong family of Marrar are set to shine in the Poll Dorset section with their sheep from the Armdale and Armdale Park studs.
Over the years The Rural has reported on the success of exhibitors at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
And the fact is the achievements are diverse.
From the achievements of sisters Lucy and Gracie Goodyer in the equestrian section through to former rural achievers such as Andrew Hamilton the wins have continued to flow.
He is known for his rodeo stock contracting business and his late wife Margaret was also recognised for her tireless effort in providing pony rides at the event.
Mr Gill has won a lot of awards over the years but he said this one would mean a lot. He said it was heartening to be acknowledged by the Royal Agricultural Society.
Ken Robinson of Wagga has earned plenty of success at the royal too. And his efforts have certainly showed diversity. He has won major prizes in the cake decorating section through to the Ayrshire cattle judging.
