According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service numbers were similar to the last weaner sale a few weeks ago.
Solid competition came from southern buyers along with a few local Restockers. Steers were $60 to $70/head cheaper on average while heifers were steady.
Light weaner steers under 200kg sold to $650/head. Medium weights which were best supplied sold from $595 to $875 and steers 280-330kg reached $970/head.
The few over 330/kg in weight that returned to the paddock reached $1025 and the best price paid was $1145/head for steers into a feedlot.
