Riverina Police District have urged rural residents across the area to remain vigilant, ensure livestock are tagged and gates are kept locked.
A black Toyota ute was spotted with a stock trailer entering the property without permission.
The farmer spotted the ute from a distance and was unable to obtain the registration.
“Rural crime costs millions of dollars every year,” police said on Friday.
“Theft of livestock, produce and equipment, illegal shooting, trespassing and other crimes affect people's livelihood and well-being.
Anyone with any information about the vehicle is encouraged to come forward.
Police are asking anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity on rural properties across the Riverina to report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
