This was an increase of over 600 head from the previous sale.
The market consisted of 2950 lambs, 1179 ewes, 299 wethers, 41 hoggets, and 35 rams.
The quality of the market was not as good as the previous sale with most agents having only three to four lead pens.
There was a larger percentage of forward store lambs coming through, with the seasonal conditions starting to look bleak.
Agents quoted the market for top lambs to be firm to $5 cheaper in some places.
Secondary lambs showing signs of dryness were up to $10 cheaper.
Most light store lambs went to the processors with only a few returning to the paddock.
Prices for trade lambs were in the range of $5.50kg CW to $6, with a few pens of freshly shorn trade lambs touching the $6.30kg CW.
Top price of the day went to KL & SM Berryman “Springrove”, Stockinbingal, with a quality pen of XB lambs making $162.
These lambs, with an estimated carcase weight of 26kg and a jacket value of $8 came back at $5.95kg CW and went to Woolworths on a knock call.

XB Trade Lambs
- 24 to 26kg CW made from $155 to $162
- 20 to 24kg CW made from $135 to $145
- 18 to 20kg CW made from $125 to $13
- 16 to 18kg CW made from $115 to $12
- 14 to 16kg CW made from $65 to $75
Mutton numbers also lifted with more weight available and sales of mutton where the highlight of the day with top price of heavy woolly XB ewes topping out at $162.60.
The market was firm to $3 better for the heavier lines of XB ewes.
Most heavy mutton are coming back at between $4.50 to over $5kg CW.
